New Hampshire Real Estate Agent / Broker Continuing Education Requirements
Requirements Overview
The New Hampshire Real Estate Commission requires 15 hours of continuing education per biennial renewal: a 3-hour core course plus 12 hours of elective courses. All courses submitted for CE must have different course numbers — duplicates are not accepted. An additional 3-hour core course may count toward elective hours for non-first-renewal active licensees.
First-renewal salespersons (licensed on or after February 1, 2020) face a post-licensing requirement within their 12 elective hours. They must take courses covering P&S Contracts, Ethical Behavior, Disclosure Forms, and Agency, and these post-licensing courses must be completed in a classroom setting — online is not accepted for this component.
Inactive licensees need only the 3-hour core course to renew in inactive status, but must complete the full 15 hours before reactivating. New Hampshire transitioned to CE Broker for license renewal tracking in March 2025. All distance education courses require timing devices to ensure proper course completion.

Courses must be accredited by the NH Real Estate Commission. CE Broker is used as the renewal portal (effective March 2025).
Tips for New Hampshire Real Estate Agents
- First-renewal salespersons must take post-licensing courses in a classroom — online options will not satisfy P&S Contracts, Ethical Behavior, Disclosure Forms, or Agency requirements.
- Each CE course must have a unique course number; taking the same course twice will not count, even from different providers.
- Consider taking a second 3-hour core course as one of your electives — it counts toward your 12 elective hours and deepens your core knowledge.
- NH now uses CE Broker for renewal tracking — create an account early to monitor your completion status throughout the cycle.
