Carry-Over
Nevada Professional Engineers must earn at least 30 PDHs biennially, including 2 hours of professional ethics and 1 hour on Nevada's chapter 625 statutes and regulations (NAC 625.430). Even licensees who qualify for the Home State Rule reporting waiver must still complete these Nevada-specific ethics and law hours. Nevada does not allow PDH carry-over.

Requirements Overview

Within the 30 biennial PDHs, NAC 625.430 requires 2 hours of professional ethics and 1 hour covering chapter 625 of the NRS and NAC. The Board offers recorded Professional Ethics (2 PDH) and Nevada Chapter 625 (1 PDH) webinars that satisfy these directly.

Online and self-study formats are eligible—NAC 625.470 recognizes self-study at one PDH per hour, and seminars, correspondence, televised, and videotaped courses each earn 1 PDH per contact hour, with no stated online cap. Nevada does not permit carry-over of excess PDHs between periods.

Under the Home State Rule (NAC 625.450), a licensee residing in and licensed by a substantially equivalent jurisdiction may have PDH reporting waived—but must still complete the Nevada-unique ethics and law hours. The Board audits a random sample of 100 licensees after renewal.
